The silver-lining question is how did this company become so popular? Well that all can be explained very easily. Upon the growth of the internet in the early and mid 1990's, a company like eBay could do nothing else but strive. This site not only began to attract everyday people trying to sell their extra items, but it also posed interest to businesses because it allowed for a much cheaper way to advertise and sell their products or services. eBay also took a giant step when they added their feature called PayPal. It is a service in which you can tie a bank account or credit card to make payments online. This service was recognized and became instantly popular. Afterall, it was much easier and safer to pay this way.

I think eBay is a great website and community. It is very user friendly and the company has built a reputation to which everyone trusts. Their innovative ideas and technologies are what keep me there. As long as eBay continues to progress and keep their standards up, I feel they will be an online auction contender for years to come.
